Profile inspection and recognition
Machine vision is widely used in production for profile inspection and recognition, enabling automated quality control and early defect detection. These systems use cameras, sensors, and AI algorithms to inspect profiles for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and structural integrity.
Case description
Using 3D profilers, we accurately capture the contours of aluminum profiles. These images are analyzed by a custom-developed AI model, which compares the measured profile against an order list retrieved from the client’s ERP system.
Each order contains up to 200 possible profile types. Our AI system identifies the most likely match with an accuracy of up to 1 mm. If the matching score is 90% or higher, the profile is automatically confirmed. If the score is lower, an operator is alerted to manually review and approve or reject the profile.
This process ensures efficient and accurate identification of aluminum profiles, combining AI with human oversight for optimal results.
