Case description

At a food processing company, fresh meals are prepared with varying heating requirements depending on the recipe. To ensure food safety and eliminate harmful bacteria, each meal must reliably reach one of three specific core temperatures: 72°C, 90°C, or 112°C. It is crucial that our client can confirm—without any doubt—that these temperatures have been achieved. An additional advantage of this approach is the precise insight it provides into the energy consumption required to bring each meal to its target temperature. Food safety and energy efficiency are the core focus of this project.
 

To accurately measure the actual temperature of the food beneath the sealing film, advanced camera technologies were tested across different wavelengths. These tests showed that it is possible to see through various and even combined materials, including glass, transparent film, and printed packaging film.
